Hello Ragamuffins! I am so happy to have found this community! I wanted to share my thoughts on fitness during the busy holiday season. I think it's fair to say that for us woman ( I don't mean to be biased based on gender), the holidays are SOOOOOO freaking busy, with gift planning, shopping, wrapping, distributing, planning meals, chauffeuring and preparing for all the parties and get togethers in our families' schedules... the list is endless. Those hallmark movies that equate Christmas or the holidays with relaxation are just, well... not the real deal :)
Therefore, even though we may skip workouts, classes, our daily runs, etc during this month, more than likely our "non-exercise activity thermogenesis" (NEAT) - daily activities that aren't exercise, like walking, or just scooting around like we do- INCREASE! To compliment the busy-ness, I'm adding Jamie's LIFT 18 program to my December. Easy to fit in and weight training will actually improve my metabolism during these busy,exhausting days when I don't actually "Stop" but yet haven't really had time for strict exercise per se.
